He has practiced law in Albuquerque since 1978. Curtis is married and recently became a grandfather. Curtis has been active with the Libertarian Party of New Mexico since 1980, serving as state chairman from 1980 to 1982. Curtis ran for Congress in 1980 as a Libertarian.

Curtis believes strongly in the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights. His focus as a Judge would be to protect the constitutional rights of all Americans. The First and Second Amendment to the Constitution especially deserve protection in every judicial forum, and Curtis will be committed to securing the liberties guaranteed to all citizens by our divinely inspired Constitution. Curtis believes it is time for a different perspective to be represented on the Court of Appeals, different from the Democrats and Republicans who have monopolized authority in our judicial system. Curtis will defend the rule of law and protect your rights under the law.
